KSPS participation in Skypeathon

On Tuesday November 28 and Wednesday November 29 my fifth and sixth graders participated in 10 Skype sessions!!! They traveled  41,142 virtual miles to visit 5 countries where they had the opportunity to be connected with different educators and students from all over the world.
My students had the opportunity to visit virtually the national museum of Egypt and the dinosaurs’ park in India. Moreover, they played mystery skype, learned about Indian textile, met students from Cambodia and learned how to use Microsoft Minecraft in our math classes.

Integrating ICT in our Science Classes

Grade 6 students are learning how to represent data collected during scientific investigations in different ways. For this reason, we went to the computer lab and implemented what we are learning during ICT sessions to construct graphs using Microsoft word.

We are vertebrates

Grade 5 students are studying about vertebrates and invertebrates, and since we can't see our own bones we downloaded different X-ray applications and used our tablets to explore our bones. It was interesting to integrate technology and use our tablets in the science sessions.

Place Value Cups

Grade 4 students used Styrofoam cups to understand place value, learn the name of large numbers, decompose numbers to expanded form, and write numbers in word form.
It was an interesting activity that all my 4th graders enjoyed 😊
