One World, One Heart

end of school year celebration slideshow

It has been another year of success that marked great achievements. Lots of activities and projects took place. What made this school year very special is that we have new friends from different countries. We've enjoyed the international exchanges...learning about our friends' culture, customs, traditions, and holidays. We not only shared letters, postcards, and bookmarks... we've also shared lots of love, laughter, and happy memories. We do hope to continue to work together next school year to achieve one common goal:
ONE WORLD, ONE HEART

My City, My Identity: BEIRUT

Beirut,"A Phoenician City", "The City of Lights", "Pearl of the Middle East", "Cultural Capital of the Arab World", and the largest city in Lebanon with history that goes back more than 5000 years,... is our capital and home to the first law school in the world. It was named the top place to visit by The New York Times Travel in 2009. It lies on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. There are several interesting places to see and discover. Today, we took a tour to explore our city which was about three hours long. We were eager to step onto the bus and see the sites that make Beirut so rich. Hope you enjoy this bird's eye view of our beloved city.

Making The Most Of The World Cup 2010

click on picture to view larger

With a goal of "Going Green", World Cup 2010 has started in Cape Town, Africa and the football fever has started, too! People come together from all over the world to enjoy watching football during the World Cup. We have shared the FIFA World Cup in our own way and brought our favorite teams' flags to the classroom. It was so interesting to do a research about those countries and fill out the 'Country Report Form'. We located these countries on the map and named some of the most famous players. Then we walked around the classroom to ask our friends about their favorite teams and fill a chart using the tally marks to record our responses. After that, we colored a graph to show the results of our survey. We're very excited, involved, and thrilled about this very special event!

Friendship Day

Friendship Day is on the first Sunday of August, but as the end of the school year approaches, we wanted to celebrate it with our friends at school because we consider every day is "A FRIENDSHIP DAY"! It's a day to express our love for our friends and show them what they mean to us. We made friendship bracelets for each other since they are the most popular symbols of friendship. We tied them to the wrists and then our friends become a part of our life. Then we walked around the playground and wrote positive remarks about our friends on each other's back. We're so happy to keep these notes with the compliments written on them.
