Message in a bottle

It is the end of our school year, next year we are going to be in the fourth grade. So, at the end of this year we wanted to do something special, something that will remind other students about us after several years. So, we made “A message in a bottle project”. We wrote letters describing where we live and our daily routine. To make our project more interesting, we placed our messages in bottles before sending them in the posts to schools around the world. We are extremely eager to hear how children live across the globe. We want to find out what life is like outside of our small community. Moreover, we kept our messages in a locker at school so that after five years the third graders would open the bottles, read our messages, and compare and contrast their lives with ours.

Making a rock

Grade 3 students decided to make a rock. They brought wax paper, plastic cup, plastic spoon, sand, gravel, white glue and water to school.  First, they placed a wax paper over their work area. Then, they placed 1 spoon of sand, 1 spoon of gravel, and 1 spoon of glue to the cup and added few drops of water and stirred the mixture until it formed a lump. After that, they poured the mixture onto the paper and let it dry. Finally, a model of rock was made. Give it a try!
