Technology in Our Math and Science Classes

Technology has advanced my Math and Science classes in a positive way. With access to a computer and internet, different activities can be performed online in the classroom.
Since last month and on weekly basis, cycle 2 students are performing online formative assignments and tests using different web 2.0 tools; Zoomerang, survey monkey, hot potatoes…
After an entire month of implementing the online assignments in the Math and Science classes, it was clearly observed that they had a positive impact on students’ results and on children who have difficulty performing in traditional classroom environments.

Ask Grade 6, The Scientists!

Grade 6 students have a dream to become real scientists when they grow up. For this reason, they started practicing from now and make amazing experiments.

Math Outdoor Learning Sessions

During the last week, Grade 6 students took part in Math Outdoor Learning sessions where they were studying about polygons, lines and angles relationship, circles… Students took part in a “Team Challenge” during the outdoor sessions. They were divided into groups; each group had to draw different kinds of polygons, and to represent lines and angles relationship using different geometric tools. Outdoor learning sessions had a positive impact on children’s learning and concentration, while enhancing cognitive skills, social skills, self-esteem, and creativity.

Wilderness in Class

Lately Grade 4 students worked, researched, and presented a project about snakes. The whole class became our wilderness and the whole class was involved in this project. Each student spoke about a different kind of snake. We discovered that there are over 3000 types of snakes and 375 of them are venomous. The snakes that are poisonous also have fangs.
It was a nice experience to get to know the mysterious serpents and weird creatures of nature.

To Speak Out Loud

In our English session Grade 5 students prepared interesting and exciting posters about different causes, campaigns, and products, in which they tried to speak up and defend their cause, product or even their candidacy as leaders of the class or the school.
This way they understood different concepts as independence, advertisement, honesty … in order to prepare flyers and posters.

Padlet.com

As the seniors of KSPS, Grade 6 students lately worked on a new ICT project. First, they watched a Disney production animated movie, called “FROZEN”, then as their English teacher I created a wall on padlet.com and invited each student.
In order each student to participate and work together, I took them to the Computer lab and each student accepted the invitation I sent and were able to access the wall by writing their comments and reviews about the movie we watched together.

KSPS Library!

Grade 6 students had an English session at the school Library, where they not only got the chance to work in pairs or groups they also got the chance to present their group work in front of the whole class.
For them the Library is, “a place where we can think more, surrounded with wonderful books, and is a new surrounding other than the class we sit in everyday …”
These are some photos we would like to share it with you:

Thank You!
