Math with My Family

Today grade 6 Math session wasn’t the same as everyday. Special visitors were present in our classroom. Students’ family members were invited to attend an interactive Math class.

Moms, dads, cousins, sisters, and brothers were present in our class.

We watched interactive flipchart, sang a song, and played a game related to our lesson, Order of Operations.

Special thanks for each and every member that joined us today.

You made our class glitter with love.

Integration of Math with Arts

Fifth graders are studying about “Lines Relationship”; parallel, perpendicular, and intersecting. To assure the understanding of this concept it was time for an interesting hands-on activity. Students used wooden sticks and play dough to create different models that contained parallel, perpendicular and intersecting lines. Then they classified the lines in their models as parallel, perpendicular and intersecting.

Modeling Mitosis

The idea of mitosis (cell division) is quite new and challenging for grade 5 students, so it’s time for an interesting hands-on activity to approach this concept. Students modeled the stages of mitosis at their homes using different materials as pasta, clay, biscuits, beads… enjoy!
