The Food Chain Photostory

Grade 4 students translated their understandings of the food chain concept into different models.

Learning Polygons through Tangrams

Tangrams, an old Chinese method, are dissection puzzles consisting of seven flat shapes, which are put together to form different objects. My 5th graders used Tangrams and created different shapes (Dragons, cats, helicopters, Rabbits…). Finally my students used the shapes they created to identify different polygons.

Microsoft Plickers: Immediate feedback on students’ understanding

Plickers is a powerful, simple and time-saving tool that provides teachers with immediate formative assessment data.

I ask my students to simply turn their card to the letter A, B, C, or D while I scan their cards through my smartphone camera. Instantly, the students’ answers load right to the screen!
