Snow Days In Beryzovo, Russia

It's so cold!

Letters to our friends at Strekoza English Language School in Beryzovo, Russia

the link to our project on Strekoza English Language School website "I'm sending you 4 letters from my students. I have told them that some of kids "from abroad" might want to reply them. It could be our start for this school year. It would be great if your kids could reply in the same way so we would form permanent e-pals pairs. About the kids: Anatoly is a boy, others are girls. Marsha, the youngest, is my daughter. They can then proceed to writing via the e-pals mail system, but now it is easier for them to hand-write. Yours could reply in any way they like. Yesterday night it started to snow for the first time this autumn (well, it did snow a couple of times before but not a lot and the snow melted immediately) - and we now have over a foot of snow! I'm sending you some photos I have just made - of my own kids and a bird feeder we quickly made with some lard and rowan berries - just hang those up on a clothes line J . I thought your kids might be interested to see the snow! Have a good weekend." Ekaterina Mrs. Ekaterina Vertkova, thanks a lot for the letters and the beautiful snow pictures. How amazing to have snow! You are really very lucky. Looking at the snow pictures arose so many questions in the classroom...How is it that there is snow in Russia...fall in Colorado...and still so hot in Lebanon??? I think we're jealous of everyone's snow days! Hoping to get our share of snow this year and enjoy a white winter.

How Does KSPS Look Like?

Our friends at St John's Meads CofE School,Eastbourne Our friends at St.Simran Public School,India Among our new partnerships on e-languages website,we took part in the project titled "How Does Your School Look Like?" It was a very interesting back to school activity for Grade Six students as they had a chance to write about their school to other students. What was more exciting is that they also compared and contrasted their school to schools around the world as they learned about how schools look like in India,Egypt,Russia, and,Bangladesh. The following text shows how KSPS grade 6 students described their school to their friends around the world: We are students at Makassed Khalil Shehab Primary School located in Beirut,Lebanon. We are around 170 pupils, distributed among grades 2 till 6.Learning is fun at our school since we take part in various activities, community and environmental work such as fundraising events, planting trees, cleaning the beach, spreading awareness against climate change and the importance of saving energy and many more.Because of our active international work,we have received The International School Award from the British Council. If you would like to learn more about our school and have an idea about our various activities, visit our blog: http://clover-khalil.blogspot.com

Our new friends at Unison World School
Toys bring smiles and magic! They are a great way to bring us together. They have symbolic meaning and tell us a great deal about the way we live and reflect culture. Special thanks to Ms. Ritu Beri from Unison World School in India for joining our "Toy Project" and giving us the chance to compare our toys with yours. It looks you had a wonderful toy day!
