Promoting Healthy Food and Sports

As every Monday, the AUB nutrition department visited KSPS 4th and 5th graders to proceed the project “Promoting Healthy Food and Sports” that encourages students to change their life style habits.
Last Monday, students were introduced to the activity “What is a portion?” Ms. Sara Assi explained the nutritional characteristics and the amount of each food group needed per day.
Students’ assignment is to jot down the quantity of food they eat in every meal in “My Food Booklet”. Then, students will classify their meals into food groups to check if they are eating the correct portions of each food group.

Polygons and Triangles

     This week grade four students had a new experience that allowed them to learn in a unique way.

  Their lessons were about classifying Polygons according to their sides, and classifying Triangles according to their sides and angles.

أبيض على مدّ النـّظر

      ضمن النـّشاطات اللاصفيّة الهادفة قامت مدرسة خليل شهاب مع تلامذة الحلقة الثـّانية يوم الخميس في 23 شباط 2012 برحلة إلى فاريا كفرذبيان.

     منذ اللحظة الأولى تفاجأ التـّلامذة بالبساط الأبيض الكبير الذي كلـّل جبال لبنان الشّامخة ورافقهم طوال الرّحلة . وما إنا وصلنا إلى فاريا حـتّى انطلق التـّلامذة فرحين يجولون ذلك البساط فتارة يتزحلقون وتارة يتراشقون بكرات الثـّلج .

    رحلة ستبقى راسخة في أذهان تلامذتنا استمتعوا فيها وغنـّوا ورقصوا .

قامت الحلقة الثانية في مدرسة خليل شهاب برحلة إلى فاريا حيث استمتعوا بجمال الطبيعة وبياض الثلج وتعرّفوا على مميّزات الجبال اللبنانية

Tooth Tally Project

The tooth fairy project has just started! and grade one clovers are ready now! They will be counting their lost teeth with hundreds of children from around the world in February, March, and April. We started by activity one and we plotted our school location on the collaborative map and updated our class page.
