Learning an offline way to write comments on blog posts using paper blogs is so much fun! After reading the rules of a good comment, we were divided into five stations. The leaders of each station were responsible to read the blog post to their groups and were the first to compose a comment. Then we took turns commenting on the blog posts and sometimes on our friends' comments....and the excitement grows!
Dear families, you are also an important part of the comment section and we'd love to hear from you. Thank you for all your support!

I'd also like to thank the special guest on the live interactive webinar, Ms. Karen McMillan. The paper blog was an interesting way to introduce second graders to commenting on blogs!

Exchanging weather reports with our friends at St. Catharine School

It's very chilly in UK! We need to wrap up warmly

It’s autumn in Lebanon. The weather is warm.Grade 5 students at KSPS participated in a project on e-languages website about the weather conditions. They observed the weather conditions in Lebanon for an entire month and wrote letters to their new grade 5 friends in St. Catherine School in United Kingdom explaining the weather conditions in Lebanon in this time of the year. They had the chance to notice the similarities and the differences in the weather conditions between Lebanon and UK.They also compared the rain levels between the 2 countries. Moreover, grade 5 students learned about the units used to measure the temperature Celsius and Fahrenheit.
Grade 5 students were so glad to learn about other countries. They are anxious to meet their new friends in person soon.

Flat Stanley In Lebanon

Flat Stanleys with our friends in Colorado, USA
Thank you...we loved our new guests!
with a passport and now in Lebanon

Hello! I am Flat Stanley :)

We're participating in Flat Stanley Project, which is based on the book "Flat Stanley" written by Jeff Brown.

Last month we made paper Flat Stanleys, put them in an envelope, and mailed them to our friends at Sunset Elementary School in Craig. Today we were so happy to meet the new guest. Flat Stanley had a very long flight to our country. He came holding his passport with him. After discussing the project, we decided to take him along on outings, take photos, and keep a journal of his experiences. We'll make a little "sleeping bag" for this flat character and treat him as an honored guest!

It's a wonderful way to come together to share and learn from each other.

A Guide to parents: Understanding the implementation of the Math Program

The smile of young clovers is the best sign that reflects our feelings of excitement and joy as we embark on this new school year. It is our aim to work with you as partners as we guide your child in her/his pursuit of knowledge.
We use the Harcourt Math books, which provide a whole detailed discussion of instructional strategies that are likely to enhance student learning. We have the book, which is used, in the classroom for solving exercises on the copybook that is checked on a weekly basis by the teacher. To reinforce the skills taught to students in class, we use a practice book for homework which is taken home either daily or during the week-end.
Better problem solvers are better test takers, for that a problem Solving day is done every Thursday to provide an opportunity to diagnose student difficulty in the critical area of problem solving.
Since motivation is the most crucial element of a child's education, many motivating and interesting math activities are done on regular basis.
Parents can support their children’s learning by maintaining regular contact with the school, following up homework assignments, and signing quizzes and tests found in the portfolio.

A Special Celebration

Students were very enthusiastic when they started using the electronic book this year in the Informatics period. Indeed they have become more motivated and involved. Adha is coming up, so the students of grades 2 and 4 practiced the skills that they acquired using the "drawing" tool of the e-book to create beautiful drawings and were eager to share it with their friends. Adha Mubarak to all!
